I am excited for this book, but it's probably going to take me awhile to read this book, since I will be back in school by the time of it's release. I hope its better than Heir of Fire because it was really hard to get through. I didn't like the new character who was introduced (I think her name was Maven.) I found her story line to be very boring and not interesting at all. I hope we get more of Celeana and Chaol in this book!

#Cramathon Update-Day 3

If you read my last post, you would know that I am currently reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I am enjoying myself so much! I love being back at Hogwarts! 

And I've missed Harry's sass.

I read a total of 183 pages today, which is pretty good considering I've had a busy day. I uploaded a new YouTube video (which you can check out below)...

...and I went out and saw the new Minions movie! It was cute!

Tomorrow, I really want to finish Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I have exactly 298 pages left, so hopefully I can! I am kinda busy tomorrow with cello lessons, but with the rest of my free time, I plan to conquer this book!

#Cramathon Update-Days 1 and 2

Hey guys! If you didn't know I am participating in #Cramathon hosted by WhittyNovels and myself. If you didn't see my TBR video, you can watch it below.

Day 1:

On day 1, I read 2 books and completed 2 challenges.

I read Shipwreck on the Pirate Islands by Geronimo Stilton for the Read a Children's book challenge. I think I've finally outgrown reading these because I didn't enjoy myself reading this. I rated it 2.5/5 stars.

Next, I read The Runaway Queen by Cassandra Clare and Maureen Johnson to complete the Read a Novella Challenge. I rated this 2 stars because I just thought it was okay.

Day 2:

I read 2 books on day 2 and completed 1 other challenge.

I started my day off by reading Vampires, Scones, and Edmund Herondale by Cassandra Clare and Sarah Rees Brennan. I enjoyed this more than The Runaway Queen, but I still didn't love it. I rated it 2.5/5 stars.

Next, I read Of Triton by Anna Banks. I enjoyed this so much more than the first book. It was so fast paced and I got so more engrossed in the story. I plan to have a review on this book up soon! I rated it 4/5 stars.

I am currently re-reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling and straying from my TBR. I am loving this so far and I am so glad I decided to pick it up! I read 171 pages on day 2.

I'm so excited to read this! I've heard so many great things from people who have already read the ARCs of this book (so jealous btw.) It sounds so interesting and I cannot wait to read it!

The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

Summary:

The Wrath and the Dawn is about the young Caliph of Khorasan, Khalid, who executes a new wife every dawn. Shahrzad volunteers with the intention of getting revenge for her best friend, Shiva, who was executed by the murderous Caliph.

She has a clever plan to stay alive and is the first to break the cycle. She survives her first night.

All is going according to plan until Shahrzad begins to fall in love with Khalid.

Overall Review:

I was really into this book at the beginning, but then I just wasn't as into it. I had to listen to the audiobook to finish it.

I felt like there was an inst-love between Khalid and Shahrzad. I would've like to see their relationship develop more.

There is also a hint of magic, but it goes unexplained throughout the book. I hope the author delves more into it in the next book. 

I really liked the fact that this was set in a different culture than what I am familiar with. Diversity is always great in books.

Writing:

Renee had a beautiful writing style. It was easily my favorite aspect of the book. The way she wrote was so descriptive. I knew what every outfit looked like. All of the dialogue was great too.

Characters:

Shahzrad (Shazi):

I enjoyed reading about Shahrzad. She is a really strong female lead. She is clever, sarcastic, and strong. Little too outspoken for Khalid, but I think that's what made them good for each other.

Khalid:

The Khalid was very quiet throughout the whole book, but that's understandable given his back story. I liked that Shahrzad brought out his good sides.

Despina:

I loved Despina. She was so funny and sarcastic. She was a great addition to the novel.
